Why harsh?? It's true. You've got changes being made that haven't been fully tested.

OK, so it's pre-season. But with so many changes seemingly having been made, how are owners or coaches supposed to know just what the hell works and what doesn't in the vastly complicated AIs??

So are we going to have it all ironed out before the season starts??? Or are we going to have another season where, at some random point, players will miss more tackles in one game than they did all year?? Players will break more tackles in one game than they've done in their entire career?? QBs will throw more INTs in one game than the rest of the league has thrown between them all season??

The nature of ANY sort of test is that it's done in isolation, so that problems can be ironed out. When you make multiple changes at the same time, and then give players multiple options with so many vaiables, there's no way that you can know for certain what changes are having what effect. That's NOT just this game, that's the basis for ANY scientific approach to testing!

We're in season 4 and money is being spent is large amounts. All I'm simply saying is that we should be at a point now where the game is being fine tuned, not having wholesale changes made to it that completely screw up the results and make it into a bit of a joke...........

With the level of apparent human influence on the sim, you're going to have cases that Bort didn't think of testing. There's an enormous number of possible combination of builds and tactics. I'd rather have stuff like this happen now, get an extra preseason game, and be set for the season.

People are jumping the gun a little bit, I think.

Um, I'm making adjustments as you guys type...seriously it's pretty tough to test every single possible combination. All the test sims I've been running recently with test players have been coming out pretty good, but that's only my set of players as opposed to the hundred thousand players on the live site.

This was expected; I imagine I'll have everything ironed out by the end of the day.

I was thinking we'd be seeing an extra scrimmage game or two as well. Looks like we could use it.

Good to know.

A game of mine just simmed and WRs caught plenty of passes.

So I think its a start.

And thus the importance of these first two scrim games is proven. Good call Bort.

Are the unusually high Sack numbers expected or something you are looking at?

VB1 would have a point if this were not a developing game. There is a reason this game still does have a Beta tag on it. As new things get added to the game, they have a serious chance to break, or screw with things, and no matter how good you think you test it on a small server, you can't possible cover all the interaction the real players will put it through.

These scrimmages are great things as EVERYONE, including Bort is getting information from them.

That is why we have pre-season games folks. Bort has to work out some issues just like we all do with the AI.

There sure are some freaked out tweakers that play this game. It's a game. It's being developed. relax. Nobodies gonna die.

Sounds good. Please tell me that the high number of sacks was a bug also.
