OK... don't tell me the question has been answered... My Guard currently has 14 in pancake (8 of them natural)... I can still upgrade his Advanced Equipment (2 pieces) and gain 3 more from that easily... plus 2 more natural... I could buy 2 more pieces and upgrade those... that puts pancake above 20... Is that going to do any good, or am I wasting my time at a certain level, if so, what level??? It is important to know because I have several players, all using adv. eq. and I have never wasted bonus tokens. Will they be cyborgs trampling over mortals??? or will I be less effective because I didn't put it all in attributes??? Then begs the question... Should I take an attribute over 100 or is that folly?

Attributes over 100 work just like attributes under 100. SAs over 10 have a diminishing return. They are separate entities with a mutually exclusive effectual criteria.

SOME SA's have diminishing returns, depending on how the SA works. None of us know which ones are affected and which aren't.

I would like to know the answer on SA's over 15 as well...if they work or not.

At level 40 you can get 12 AEQ upgrades (enough for two pieces at +4 each), although that's also enough to get three pieces to +3 each for a bonus of +9 to an SA. Add in Custom Equip and a natural 10...you could at L40 have a +20 in an SA.

That's why I can't understand people with like 115 when they could have used those SP's somewhere else if this is true ?

It will add a tiny bit to your pancake. From there it is a matter of personal preference. Do you want to do that or spend those points/eq slot on something else.

If they were designed around base 10, odds are you don't really want to go over them even though you can.

What about advanced equipment with +1 to a SA? Doesn't that allow you to get past 15?


10 naturally. You can keep upgrading your AEQ but you get +1 SA for every second upgrade. So 16 bonus tokens = +2, 32 bonus tokens = +3, 48 bonus tokens = +4, and 60 bonus tokens = +5.

Let's take an example of how I think they might work...the "General" skills, which fire more frequently the higher you get them.

Let's assume the chance of a General Skill firing is the sum of the skill from 1 to it's value.

So...

1 = 1%
2 = 1 + 2 = 3%
3 = 1 + 2 + 3 = 6%
10 = 10 + 9 + 8 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 55%

Now, that's all fine and dandy. Nothing broken about a 55% chance to fire....but what about 13%?

13 = 13 + 12 + 11 + 55 = 91%
14 = 14 + 91% = 105%

Ok, now we can see it's clearly broken as both of those would likely be far too high. What if instead each value over 10 gave us a flat 5%. Now, this gives a "reduced" increase and isn't as powerful....

13 = 5 + 5 + 5 + 55 = 70%
14 = 75%

which is still more powerful, but not completely broken. I imagine some other of the SA's work kinda like this.

NOTE: This is only an illustrative example and not based on KNOWING how things work.

Some SAs would be very powerful at 15, heh. I'm sure it'll take at least a few seasons to get it upgraded to that though, right?


Yeah they'd be pretty good, but not a huge ton better than 11 really, based on the way that most of them work. Yes it would take a while to get something to lv 15, not to mention all the SP's you have to spend to get to lv 10 naturally!


But there is a difference between 11 and 15? Or 11 and 10 for that matter? Sorry if I missed it, but I never saw you confirm.
