Bort - Noticed the update for advanced equipment - when will the update show up in the upgrade section of the equipment, or will the SA upgrade automatically when you upgrade the equipment with +1 attribute?

I didnt read through every post in this thread, but to solve the problem of getting older players newer equip, would it be too unreasonable to give 2-4 bonus tokens per upgrade level when you sell an old-school updated item?

say i sell my old shirt that has been upgraded 3 times, i get cash and either 6 or 12 bonus tokens (not sure if 12 is too much, 6 seems kinda low though). you're the one who has to balance it though, so an idea similar to that would help solve the problem.

I know its probably too late to give my 2 cents but I'd say to not even use the bonuses to stats in advanced equipments just use it for additions to SA's and skills used in the game. and also to maybe have a slot for advanced equipment like we do for custom.

as for older players maybe an "advanced upgrade" purchase for equipement already owned. this will give each piece of equipement add-on slots. when this is purchsed then the upgrades section will pop up in the equipment page. The cost of the "upgrade slots could depend on how hight the quipement is. I saw a post of something similiar to this earlier but felt I had to add to it to make it more feasible and not so easy to upgrade.

have things for advanced equipement like:
ankle brace
oxygen for the sideline
knee wraps
neoprine elbow wrap
caritine drops
steroids(yeah I know illegal but a suggestion)
lighter pads
trainer in skill
parachute resistance vest
weight vest
coaches sweat band

the list could go on and on.

How about making the advanced items not gear. But make them a socketable item, and then you pay BT to allow your normal equip to have a socket then you can add the above item. Say max of 3 sockets per item first slot costing 6bt, 2nd 8bt, and 3rd 10bt. Teh from there we vets wouldnt have to pay to get the level of the items up and it could still follow in lines with the new training update.

I have an idea, which could have already been mentioned, but with transitioning the old EQ to the new AEQ, you could reward bonus tokens for each +1 to an attribute of the old equipment.

For example if I have a black visor with +3 speed, it can be traded for 3 bonus tokens. It can help the push in bonus tokens to upgrade the AEQ so it is good enough to replace the older item. It could even be 2 BTs for every +1. Then, a level 24+ player can trade in his +4 item for an instant upgrade to the AEQ, thus making the transition pretty easy. It also accelerates the process, maybe too much. Part of the fun of the new AEQ is the advancement time and strategy to get good EQ builds.

The flaw here though, that I realize as I type this, is that you could just buy Shoes, +3 STR, and then trade it for 3 BTs, and repeat.

I'm still trying to figure out some way to have the old equipment be able to be used to upgrade the new equipment or something so older players have the ability to transition to some of the new EQ easier, but everything come up with so far ends up having some sort of loophole that makes it too easy to have ridiculous gear or get too much cash or something. Will keep thinking on that part.

SUGGESTION:

If you "merge" the Advanced EQ with Standard EQ, you get the choice of the attribute bonus already on your standard EQ -1 point, plus the SA OR the attribute bonus on the Advanced Gear upgraded to the bonus level of your standard EQ -1 point plus the SA bonus. Some cash or maybe 2 bonus required to perform the "merge" ...

EXAMPLE:

LOT Lvl 24 has Standard Visor giving +4 to Vision. He visits the store and finds Superior Visor giving +1 to Confidence and +1 to Shock Block SA.

Once they are merged together, he gets the choice of having +3 VISION, +1 Shock Block SA - OR - +3 Confidence, +1 Shock Block SA. (That way Veteran Players have a better chance of having the best possible Advanced EQ for their level, since the New Player is going to have X number of Shopping Trips more by the time they reach that same level)

POSSIBLE EXCEPTION:

Jackpot Situation: You find Advanced EQ that is already Max Bonus for your Level AND bonuses the SAME Attribute as the corresponding Standard EQ you already own. "Merging" them gives you the FULL Attribute Bonus from the Standard EQ PLUS the SA Bonus from the Advanced EQ.

EXAMPLE:
The Same LVL 24 LOT finds a Superior Visor that is +3 Vision and +1 Shock Block SA. He merges it with his +4 Vision Standard Visor and gets "Superior Visor: +4 Vision, +1 Shock Block SA"

I think this would even out the "New Player vs. Old Player" advanced EQ disparity quite nicely without being exploitable!

I would like the focus to be on players and strats and NOT on equipment... if I want gear I can log onto WOW. I also have no desire to make my player "special" with unique equipment... if I build well and get in the right system I will put up great stats, end of story.

OK, that's fine for you, but THIS thread is about "Balancing Advanced EQ for Higher Level Players" NOT "Complaining about Advanced EQ" ... PLEASE keep the topic on point for those of us that DO like the Equipment and want to make it more fair for Veteran Players.

I believe this would fix the Normal Equipment to Advanced Equipment transition!
