Tough to tell exactly. I think it depends on his vision. He does slow down, he does it before the ball gets there. So he is still moving smoothly when he reaches the intersect point.

1) The random roll that occurs before the QB even throws the ball that determines where the targeted ball will land.
2) Whether or not the WR is in front of that path, behind it, or he wins the lottery and happens to hit the spot where the ball is landing at the exact time the ball lands.

I don't believe attributes play any role in catching in stride what-so-ever. If something does on the WR side, I'd put my money on carrying, but again I don't believe this.

More catching, more vision, with higher amounts needed the faster you are.

Failing rolls against your catching score will make you slow down when you catch the ball, while succeeding will keep you going.

This is assuming the QB leads you well, of course.

Well, then.

This is a huge, stinking nugget of info.

Wow. I never even considered speed as a potential negative in the equation.

Faster as in "total speed score" or faster as in "current velocity"?

It makes sense when you think about it. The faster you run, the harder it is to concentrate on the ball.

Total speed score, as I read it. Which makes complete sense, considering what we've seen from the sim.

Doesn't carrying effect how you bring the ball in?

Current velocity makes more sense to me. I mean, if you have 120 speed, but happen to be running only at say 30 (WR screen perhaps?), why should you need more stuff to be hit in stride? You're moving slow.

It reads like "total speed score" as in the attribute, but "current velocity" makes more sense.

I am not so sure about that. It think that is more a function of effort. If someone is naturally faster, but coasting abit, he would have an easier time catching balls than a guy running the same speed at 100% effort.

No, it's current velocity actually. If you're already running slow or stopped, it should be easier to catch the ball IMO.

Yes, but more as it relates to holding on to it and not bobbling, or dropping it because you got hit.

Ahh - for some reason, I thought you meant velocity of the ball. Nm, then. Velocity makes perfect sense

So a catch is a catch, but a clean catch incorporates carrying?
