Another thing that could help Elusive Backs, is to actually make Super Elusive a viable choice.

As it is now, hardly anyone that I know of, uses SE for their Elusive Backs.

This is what was supposed to help them out, making them more fun to own, but has kind of failed pretty badly.

And I think the Mentor bugged guys had confidence working for them more than vision...the vision caused them to run in circles and straight at defenders, while confidence made everybody unable to tackle them.

Dat's true. Although the paths taken were definitely more interesting than anything we've ever seen. I've been thinking about trying to play with that aspect for super elusive and see if it could work with some tweaks. Big cutbacks and the ability to bounce outside more quickly would be awesome IMO. You can do some of it with high enough agility currently, but not to the level I'd like to see someday.

As for the run into the defender thing, that's related to sidelines I think. I tried reducing the sideline push vector some; didn't do much. I will need to spend some time with it after we finish the current passing/blocking stuff I think.

Have you ever considered HBs reversing field at some point? It might become overpowered but man it would be exciting to see.

I wish I had the replay at hand, but I swear that I've seen it happen. A HB was running to the left, spun out of a tackle attempt by the ROLB, and used that momentum to swing back towards open space in the middle of the field.

Like stopping completely to a different direction?

Also Bort, does spin's success rate have to do with running style? I have seen my more powerful backs have a lot more success with spin and use spin more often than my elusive despite them being on power running style? Shouldn't spin if it uses agility be more effective on elusive style?

It just depends on if you're running into the guy...so power guys are gonna run into more people.

Are defenders who were just faked suffering a penalty to their tackling roll? I think they should suffer a pretty heavy one until a certain amount of ticks after when they gain their footing and balance again.

Yeah, and a pretty big morale hit.

OK, without looking over 19 pages, exactly where did Bort answer the original question concerning elusives?
TY in advance

This is just the MAN's way of keeping Cassius Clay down. Decline couldn't stop him, so the man takes away his ability to spin. I'd change his name to Muhammed Ali in protest.

I used to use it but it became problematic because my RB would dance to much after he faked a guy and get tackled by the guy he faked.

Except he didn't even seem to stop. It was crazy because he just seemed to almost bounce off the defender and react with great speed back to the middle. Pretty awesome, actually, I just wish I had saved the link.

Also, I'd like to reiterate my suggestion that Deathblade have his own team of socially inept problem solvers to look at various issues in the sim. Not only would it get things done, but it could be made into its own TV show.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He would stick around faking people, until he got tackled.

About the instances where an HB fakes a defender in the open field, then runs right into them, resulting in a diving tackle, what about them?: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=979956&pbp_id=12447501
